Char49 at Hack.lu and CTI Summit 2025 — Unmasking Bluetooth Vulnerabilities

Char49 was proud to take part in Hack.lu and CTI Summit 2025, one of Europe’s most respected cybersecurity events, held in Luxembourg. On October 22, David Sopas, Co-Founder and COO of Char49, took the stage to deliver a thought-provoking talk that dived deep into the hidden world of Bluetooth and BLE security.

When Wireless Turns Dangerous

We often think of Bluetooth as a harmless convenience—powering everything from our headphones to smart devices and even municipal parking systems. But as David revealed, those invisible signals are far from innocent.

In his session, titled “The Parking Chronicles - A DIY Guide to Agents Detection”, David presented a real-world case study that turned everyday wireless communication into a playground for discovery, privacy concerns, and creative problem-solving.

Lessons from the Field

Using practical hacking techniques, David demonstrated that Bluetooth and BLE technologies—despite their ubiquity—still harbor weaknesses that can be exploited in surprising ways. The session left attendees questioning the trust we place in devices and systems that rely on these protocols.

Whether you’re a security professional or simply someone who uses Bluetooth every day, the talk offered valuable insights into how privacy and security intersect in the most ordinary technologies.

It was an honour for Char49 to be part of this year’s Hack.lu and CTI Summit. The event once again proved to be a hub of innovation, collaboration, and forward-thinking in the cybersecurity community. Our sincere congratulations go to the Hack.lu team and organisers for hosting such a well-structured, engaging, and inspiring conference.
